Having a cottage break means the UK is your oyster! You aren’t tied down to any set breakfast times as you would in a B&B or hotel, you have the saved expense of stocking the fridge with your own food and drinks, and you can come and go as you please. All UK cottages are designed to make you feel like you really have a “home away from home” they range from small and comfortable accommodation for people on a budget to pure opulence and luxury, there really is something for every taste, and they are fantastic all year round from sitting outside your cottage enjoying the sunset on a cool summer night, to snuggled up inside with a roaring fire on a cold winter night. If that sounds like a promising idea, then do read more about rural country breaks and discover where you might like to go.

An examples of the places we have right here in the UK is the town of Rye set near the coast in East Sussex, its streets are lined with beautiful medieval houses, and the St Marys church tower offers stunning views over the town. The local farmers markets offer fresh local produce that you could take back to your holiday home to eat and graze on at your leisure or if a holiday to you means no cooking, then there is always a local pub not far away to sample some pub grub and local ales.

Leigh on Sea in Essex is a picturesque Parish set on the northern estuary of the river Thames. It has a real seaside feel to it, with loads of quaint pubs along with river side to waste away a few hours watching the boats go by, and in the evening time there is the main high-street that offers many independent bars, restaurants all with a busy yet welcoming and homely feel.

So no matter what it is you want to get out of your UK cottage break you will find there is something for everyone, of all ages and all tastes. The only bad point is you really won’t want to leave!
